Sumas Environmental Services in conjunction with our associate partners
have developed an advanced technological bioremediation process that quickly treats soil
contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons without harming the environment or requiring
long- term financial exposure.
Referred to as Biologically Enhanced Remediation (BER), this unique engineering
application uses a naturally occurring microbial phenomena to break down contamination and
accelerates the remediation process. Under laboratory conditions, specific microbes are
isolated based upon their unique ability to degrade specific components of various
petroleum products including diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline, hydraulic fluids, JP-4,
motor oil, benzene, toluene and naphthalene.
The microbes are blended to form specific contamination treatments, and are fed and
stimulated into densities much higher than normal. Upon request, the microbes and specific
nutrients are sent on-site or to special biotreatment centers where contaminated soil is
treated quickly and effectively. |
